CT evaluation

During a CT scan, computers and x-ray machines are used to produce detailed images of the body. During the scan, you will be asked to lie inside a specially designed machine, while x-rays are taken from various angles. In some cases, a contrast dye is administered so that your internal structures can be more clearly seen.

A CT evaluation may be recommended in cases where it is necessary to perform a diagnosis. Because the x-ray images are so detailed, it is possible to view the blood vessels and other internal structures, identify the location of tumours, and diagnose infections and disorders.
