Born in Rundu (Namibia) - father (retired Specialist Physician) worked at the Missionary hospitals in the Kavango area

Grew up in Nelspruit (Mpumalanga)

Matriculated 1989 Nelspruit High school

Studied 1 year Chemical engineering at the University of Pretoria

Undergraduate training at the University of Stellenbosch completed 1996

Houseman ship at Rob Ferreira Hospital in 1997

Worked in the Department of Internal medicine at the Pelonomi and Universitas Academic complex as a Medical officer in 1998

Started my training in Internal Medicine in Nov 1998 at the University of Stellenbosch - completed May 2002 and Graduated Dec 2002

Pulmonology training also at the University of Stellenbosch and received Cert Pulm (SA) Oct 2004 - in this time also receive formal training in Interventional Pulmonology with Prof. CT Bolliger

Publications - 23 including mainly work in the Interventional Pulmonology field as well as work on Pleural disease and Ultrasound. Also involved in numerous Pharmaceutical trails.

Currently working at Mediclinic Panorama since 2005

Since 2016 Dr. MJ Vorster joined me at Mediclinic Panorama and completed his training as Interventional Pulmonologist

Interests - Diagnostic and Interventional Thoracic Oncology, Subglottic stenosis, Diving related Pulmonology and Cardio thoracic ICU
