CT guided biopsy

In cases where it is necessary to diagnose a condition, a biopsy may be recommended. During a CT guided biopsy, a very thin needle is used to take a tissue sample. The needle is guided into the body and monitored with the help of a CT scan, so that very specific areas can be assessed.

Once the tissue sample has been retrieved, it will be sent to a laboratory for further testing. When the tissue sample has been analysed, your results will be explained and, depending on the case, a treatment plan will be formulated to best suit your needs.
