Pulmonary function tests

Pulmonary function tests are performed in order to measure how well your lungs work, and provide information on how effectively your lungs are able to transport oxygen to the rest of your body, as well as whether you are able to breathe properly. Pulmonary function tests may be recommended if you have experienced some symptoms of a lung disorder or to assess your progress after having lung surgery.

The tests may also be performed in order to monitor a chronic lung condition, like asthma, or to diagnose a number of lung conditions, including allergies respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer.
